What type of paint can I use an older style metal coffee maker?

I want to paint an old PERCULATOR coffee machine, which is made of metal and when it runs into the walls of the coffee machine gets very hot. What type of paint can I use it? Can I use acrylic? Thank you (I will paint a picture on it)

Depends on what type of metal it is. Firstly, try putting a magnet on it to see whether it contains. If it does, it is obviously a ferrous metal and will have a 'red out' specialist primer. If not, you can use a zinc-based metal primer, followed by a suitable top coat. Ferrous metals, the best solution is often a spray can of car paint: you get a good, smooth finish (after suitable surface preparation, of course), and this type of paint is good to withstand a reasonable amount of heat.
